About Us Hi, My name is Michael P. Rosi, I own and operate Michael Rosi Photography. I've lived in the Chicago area most of my life and developed a strong interest in photography in my early teens. I am self-taught with the help of many professionals. I have attended many seminars and exchanged ideas and knowledge with many in the field. I started as a professional photographer at age 21 and have continued to the present day learning and gaining knowledge and experience. My first 3 years were spent as an apprentice at House Of Photography in Schaumburg, IL. I spent another 9 years working for CMI Studio, a medium/large format studio specializing in Weddings, Portraits, Studio & location shots as well as Model Portfolio and Commercial Photography. I spent22 years working for Studio West of Libertyville shooting Weddings, Portraits and Event Photography which has become my specialty. I am now with Chicago Wedding Pictures. Thru out my career I have had a strong interest in Fine Art and Glamour Photography and have developed many useful skills in these areas. Those that have had the most influence on my career are Bert Stern, Richard Avadon, Irving Penn, PomPeo Posar, W. Eugene Smith, with the strongest influence coming from Rassaan Roland Kirk, a jazz musician. I use Nikon Cameras D200's Nikon/Lumedyne & Speedtron Lighting. Over the years some of the most important lessons I've learned have been in the areas of lighting and proper shades. I've developed a skill in finding the inner-beauty in most any scene and finding ways to bring that to the forefront.
